Terms
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Scout Social (“Scout”, “we”), which runs tryscoutsocial.com. They cover how candidates and companies use Scout, and they're short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.
For candidates
- Scout is free for candidates, and always will be. This is a commitment, not a promotion.
- Keep your profile accurate. Don't claim experience, degrees or skills you don't have.
- Picks are limited each week and can't be transferred or sold.
- Scout suggests roles; it doesn't guarantee interviews, offers or answers beyond the rules below.
For companies
- You can only claim roles for a company you work for, verified by your company email address.
- Roles must be real and open, with a real hiring manager and a stated pay range.
- Answer every candidate who reaches you yes or no within 7 days. Unanswered candidates are recorded as no response, and your response rate is shown publicly.
- Use what you learn about a candidate only to consider them for the role. Don't share it, contact them outside the process before a mutual yes, or try to work out who they are from a brief.
- Every hiring decision is yours, made by a person. Scout ranks and explains; it doesn't decide.
For everyone
- Don't scrape Scout, automate accounts, or send spam through it.
- We can suspend accounts that break these terms or put other people's privacy at risk.
- You can stop using Scout and delete your account at any time.
- We'll tell you before these terms change in a way that affects you.
