Join our team, and help us shape the future of anime! About the role: Enterprise Technology builds and operates software that supports critical business capabilities across the organization. As a Software Engineer III, you will independently own complex engineering projects, significant features, services, integrations, and technical workstreams from design through production. You will take on problems where the path is not always obvious, help clarify requirements, make project-level technical decisions, and use business and customer context to guide your approach. You will use AI coding agents to move faster on complex work and help other engineers use them effectively and responsibly. What You’ll Do: * Own significant features, services, integrations, or project workstreams from problem definition and design through production support. * Solve complex and ambiguous engineering problems and design maintainable APIs, data models, workflows, components, and user experiences. * Help define project scope, technical approach, success criteria, and delivery milestones. * Make project-level technical decisions and recommend improvements within established architecture. * Strengthen quality through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure engineering practices. * Use AI coding agents and other AI-assisted tools to improve delivery and quality, while applying strong judgment about when human review or deeper validation is needed. * Diagnose complex production issues, identify root causes, and improve reliability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. * Guide other engineers through technical problem solving, review, knowledge sharing, and project collaboration. What We’re Looking For: * 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience. * Experience independently owning complex features, services, integrations, or technical project workstreams. * Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript and solid software engineering fundamentals. * Strong experience with cloud environments, preferably GCP, including CI/CD, monitoring, debugging, security, performance, and reliability. * Experience making technical design decisions and recognizing when broader architectural implications require escalation. * Experience building production systems with strong automated testing, observability, maintainability, and security. * Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools and understanding their strengths, limitations, and appropriate use. * Clear communication and the ability to explain trade-offs, navigate ambiguity, and influence project-level decisions. Nice to Have: * Experience with modernization, refactoring, migrations, or technical debt reduction. * Experience owning complex enterprise applications, workflow platforms, integrations, or data-intensive systems. * Experience building reusable components, developer tooling, observability tooling, or internal platforms. * Experience with SOX controls, compliance-sensitive systems, or audit-heavy environments. * Domain experience in media, streaming, or content supply chains.
