THE ROLE
We're looking for a Law Clerk (Intern) to join our Legal Team at a fast-growing tech start-up and get hands-on exposure across the full range ofin-house legal work. You'll support contract review and negotiation, privacy, cybersecurity, and product counseling, reporting directly to our Corporate Counsel.
This is a chance to work alongside a lean legal team at an expanding company and see what it actually takes to support that growth — not just observe it.
We are seeking a 1L or 2L student currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program to join us full-time during Summer 2027. The ideal candidate could also intern ~5 hours a week during the Spring 2027 semester.
Location: Candidates must be available to work 3 days a week in our Lincoln, NE office during Summer 2027. Remote or in-person work during the Spring 2027 semester is acceptable.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements
- Help build and improve contract review processes, including the use of AI tools to speed things up
- Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of CompanyCam's privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs
- Research privacy and cybersecurity compliance topics to help strengthen those programs
- Support our Product Team through product counseling with research and practical, business-focused recommendations
- Conduct legal research across a range of topics and communicate findings clearly for attorney and business review
- Use AI to speed up research and review, while confirming accuracy along the way

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Required
- 1L or 2L student currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within the legal team and with stakeholders across the organization
- Business-minded judgment with the ability to evaluate legal risk and understand commercial objectives
- Strong legal research ability
- Ability to take ownership of and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to learn, take on new projects, and seek feedback
Preferred
- Prior internship, clerkship, or relevant coursework in commercial contracting, privacy, or cybersecurity
- Experience working as part of a company, in a legal or business role
- Availability to work in-person at CompanyCam HQ in Lincoln at least part-time during Summer 2027
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
This is an hourly position at CompanyCam. Pay for this role is $25/hour.
